It does immerse the viewer.

I preferred the old Doctor Who actors trying to get into the Anniversary Special though.

My place was packed out, 2 screens full. Quite a few cosplayed it up too.

Personally i'm not a fan but i might give the anniversary special a watch at some point to see what the fuss is about.
