The Indy and a few sci fi sites are now saying insider sources are saying it'll be a woman,
this is probably the thing I want least happening, fingers crossed it's bollox

It sounds like he said "no", then later said he didn't know enough about it, then a month or so later was given a script and then he said "no"

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Not too fussed either way about Matt Smith going, I think he was Ok and did the best he could with the materials he was given, the scripts have been terrible, especially the last series, and unfortunately its very difficult to polish a turd.

I hope it's not a woman, not because I'm sexist, but what about River? I guess it could be put down to "spoilers" but it would seem like an awfully big thing to casually throw away.

I also personally believe Time Lords have set genders, I don't think they can switch between male and female genders, otherwise it would of already happened by now for the Dr. I hope they don't cave in to the feminist complains I read that indicated that felt the Dr was sexist and racist.

Eccleston couldn't hack the filming schedule and quit before he'd even finished a full season. Its no wonder he'd not return... They probably told him to get lost. I know someone who worked on the filming crew for that first series, so I know that as fact.

I'd believe this too... Every Time Lord we've seen on screen who has regenerated has stayed the same gender. The Doctor, Rassilion, the Master, Ramona and River... but with the episode The Doctors Wife, he does mentioned that The Corsair regenerated as a woman sometimes, thus changing gender. But that's the only timelord ever mentioned as changing gender tha I know of.

Paterson Joseph gets my vote. Playing the Doc the way he did the Marquis de Carabas in the BBC's production of 'Neverwhere', he'd be legendary.

Please not a Time Lady... that would make all kinds of plot nonsense. I don't really care who's the next Doctor, as long as he's good and the scripts get better. The last series was very poorly written, especially in the fear factor department - none of them were scary. I can remember myself hiding behind the sofa in Tennant's time, but I haven't done it since Smith came on, mostly due to scripting. He was a great Doctor, and I'm not taking a side on the Tennant/Smith debate.

The Weeping Angels were my Daleks, I can't remember much of the earlier Dr Who episodes, but the weeping angel scare the hell out of me when they first appeared.

I started watching recently and honestly I just watch for the chicks. But I really did like Matt Smith.
