Looks interesting. The Peacekeeper's uniforms were changed; they look more like soldiers now. But what I really like is the movies are not from Katniss's perspective, so we see things left unseen in the books.

Jennifer Lawrence: Yawn, an over rated one trick poney.

Generic hot boys: Yawn even more.

And those white uniforms... whoever the hell designed them needs to be slapped.

(Sorry... not a fan of any of it)

The first film was enjoyable enough, and the first book was pretty good. However, the second book, Catching Fire? I really didn't like it, one of the worst novels that I read last year. I've had Book #3 on my shelves for a while now but have never got myself to read it.

For all those who haven't read the books, Catching Fire is basically the same sort of storyline as The Hunger Games, even in the same arena - but with all the older tributes who have already won the games rather than new tributes.

It furthers the plot line and it does not take place in the same arena.

Finished: Too Much Love Will Kill You (working title), an original fiction novel. Working on: Second draft of Too Much Love, and the first draft of A Winter's Tale (working title).

Fair enough. It's been a while since I read the book, but yeah, as you can tell I didn't like it, I can normally remember lots of stuff from books that I enjoyed, and sadly this wasn't one of them. However, it's still another arena battle - I was hoping for something more original and it didn't work for me. Katniss's character changes for the worse in this book, the love triangle wasn't very interesting and regardless of whether it was set in the same arena or not, the storyline was still repetitive once they reached the arena.

The book just didn't really work as well as the first one did for me, as I've mentioned before.

I'm psyched. I thought Catching Fire was a worthy (and awesome) sequel. It may help matters that my friends tend to agree with me on books and films like this, and it's always a good discussion starter, but the whole trilogy makes me feel the awesomes. However, the love triangle really wasn't my cup of tea. Not a new concept, and not even that well executed. It just took up so much time when it was semi-irrelevant.

this looks much better than the first one. never read the books and was a bit bored with the first movie. uncomprehendable emotional sequences that in retrospect made even less sense hurt that movie for me.

I think Catching Fire was the weakest of the three, personally.

Necrons W3 T0 L1

Death Korps W1 T0 L1

Dark Elves W0 T0 L0

Also fair enough. I think I read somewhere (a while ago) that due to the success of he first one, the author was pressured to get the next two out quickly, and that this negatively affected the quality of the work. I do think the arena in the second one is better though, as it's more complex and (I think) considerably more dangerous.
