Default Horror Movie Help

Hello folks, I am on a quest to rediscover horror films. I understand most of them suck or people just have too much pride to admit a movie is scary. But I remember some real scary images when I was little regarding scary movies. The only problem is that I don't remember all there names. I wish to find out the scary movies out there that I may like.

I'm asking you all to name some horror films from the 1980's-2011 that were scary or entertaining to you. I'm not really interested in the older horror films.

Its kind of sad that I just remember some of the 90's scary movies as one where there are zombie like things in a basement. Or in a beginning of one of those films there was like a witch or vampire thing with a chauldron surrounded by people who wanted to kill her, somehow they all died in some tornado or were sucked into a book. LOL. All just images. But I am curious if any of those ring a bell along with any other films that are scary.

I tried searching for the top a hundred films and I was really upset with the results to see stuff like Aliens in the top 10. But hey... whatever.

I don't promise any rep, but if you find me a film that intrigues me I may reward those who give me a movie that I might find interesting. One rep for each movie that I might find intriguing. Some food for thought, don't mention Jaws, Freddy, Jason, Halloween, Anaconda, Sleepy Hallow, From Hell, Ruins, The Mummy, Chainsaws, Leprichauns. There are more and I wish I had every movie I don't want recommendations on, because I'm either really bored of them or I have them. Its not that I don't like these films, so please don't think you may not spike my interest. Also, be patient because I can only give you one rep for every ten people I give rep. Good hunting!

1408 really got to me when I first saw it.

Its from 2007 so fits your criteria but I'm sure it isn't one of the movies you described.

Not sure if it is a horror film as such be it was certainly intriguing and rather dark and that was The Cube.

The Cube is SO DARK. Also has sequels that aren't quite as cool.

Pandorum: ridiculously creepy/cool sci-fi thriller.

Event Horizon: similar to Pandorum but WAY more mind-f%^k from what I recall.

28 Days/Weeks Later: Crazy zombie movies. They're fast. Like full-tilt sprinting fast. Scared the crap outta me. Days is the first one, Weeks the second.

My memory's pretty random access most of the time, as I remember more I will post them.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.

Alas, many movies fall into this box

I would've said Pandorum, but ntaw beat me to it, so I'll try and think of something else

You got taste!
Event Horizon had me sitting with an open mouth till the very end.

Never seen The Cube though. You guys recommend it, or am I going to regret watching it?

You're not talking about that shitty ITV game show with Phillip Schofield are you? If there was a man I'd like to punch in the face purely on account of his face and voice, it would most certainly be him.
