Default Aliens vs Predator

Today I watched the movie again. Just cannot stop myself from loving it.

You mean those two awful movies, where the second is just aliens with different names but 50x worse than avp 1...well 1 person in the world has to like them I guess, prefer having my butt prolapsed after a massive turd, it hurts ALLOT less than watching AvP

Oh the basic concept though unimaginative of aliens vs predators is fine...but setting it on earth...twice, with awful actors...twice and Piss poor scripting...twice, isn't a winning formula.

You get some aliens vs predators, on an alien or colony world with colonial marines, and that will be awesome...as long as you get good actors and script writers...which you can't these days.

Those 2 AvP movies are beyond horrible. I was fan of actually original comicbooks, but after watching these movies i just cant imagine wtf were writers thinking when they wrote these scripts. If they had rights and budget for Original first AvP comicbook, it could have worked quite fine, this way no way in hell.

I agree with you. I loved the comics and was excited when news broke of the movies. And I still held out hope even after learning it was going to be set on Earth.

AvP was such a disappointment. I'm a fan of both franchises (hell, I even think Alien 3 was a great film) but the first AvP was so awful it left me with absolutely no desire to watch the sequel. The female lead (can't be arsed to remember her name) was lifted from an AvP novel, right down to being marked with acid blood. I felt that they were trying to create a new Ripley character, but I maintain that you can't have another Ripley because part of her uniqueness was the lack of strong, female leads at that time. When Alien came out, the purpose of women in slasher films (Alien is basically a slasher film in space) was to 1.) have sex with someone, 2.) lose some articles of clothing and 3.) either die screaming or be rescued by the male lead. Dallas and Parker dieing was surprising to the original audience because they were the obvious strong male leads. Ripley was a bit of a bitch. She also wasn't painted from the beginning as 'the survivor'. By the end, she's cracking up. Since then, we've had plenty of strong female lead characters, so it's not unique.

The first one was worse than I thought it would be, the second one was watchable, but still shit. Not planing on watching either again for several, several years.

The first one was dire yet strangely watchable,
the only good thing I can say about the second one is that it's not as bad as having a camera inserted and threaded through your penis

All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
