Eugh. Impressive observation, but there's some really horrible ideas there.

got to see this last night, have to say i enjoyed it, was very Alien rather than Aliens which was cool, thought Fassbender was great as David, not sure why they decided to make guy peirce up as the old guy, im sure they could have got some one old to do the job, Chistopher lee is nearly a hundred and still acting.
The wife however didnt like it at all, shes not a fan of scifi.

HUGE BITZ RESTOCK NOW ON

I think Guy Peirce didn't look like a regular old person because he used technology and unnatural means to extend his life.

Finished: Too Much Love Will Kill You (working title), an original fiction novel. Working on: Second draft of Too Much Love, and the first draft of A Winter's Tale (working title).

I just realised if the Alien vs Predator films where true, then that alien at the end of Prometheus couldn't be the proto alien.

The AVP films aren't canon. I say that to myself every night before I go to sleep.

I was just about to put forward a scenario where the AvP films could co-exist, but then I realized that would be validating those insults to the Alien and Predator franchises.

The second wasn't too bad - The only bits that sucked were the bits with the kids, the bits with the pathetic screaming people and the fights between two different species of aliens with almost identical silhouette's... in the dark.
Other than that I liked it...

That was a genius film in my opinion.

In regards to the alien at the end. I agree, it doesn't appear to be you proto Alien. Scott said they were in the same universe and that they have similar DNA. But thats it.

I think though it elaborates your perspective of what nasty creature could have made that proto alien. The Alien we see in Prometheus isn't as sinister as the original one we are used to seeing.

Whatever it was, it lost control along time ago, and the orginal Alien existed at least the same time as the Mayans, as AVP would show us.

I loved it. It was amazing to me. Its not so much an Alien prequel as it is an origin story for the franchise (I stole that line from a review). If you watch it expecting it to tie neatly into Alien, you will be disappointed. If you watch it without expectations and knowing it is its own entity you should enjoy it immensely. The deeper meanings like faith were very powerful. Michael Fassbender is my hero.
