Couldn't wait to see the thing when I saw the first trailer, then on a more recent note I learned that Noomi Rapace is the female lead and its doubly so.

Is she any good as an actor?

I hate it when she says "It's an invitation" it's such a facepalm moment when you know she's just said the stupidest thing in the film :p

She was the title character in the Swedish adaptations of the Millenium trilogy (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, who Played with Fire, and then Kicked the Hornet's Nest) and I've only seen the later two out of those three movies but I thought she did a good job, and so did Ridley Scott because he wanted her in the role after seeing her as Lisbeth Salander.

Finished: Too Much Love Will Kill You (working title), an original fiction novel. Working on: Second draft of Too Much Love, and the first draft of A Winter's Tale (working title).

I saw the 2 minute trailer and the aliens in it didn't look like aliens, the hand things were replaced with snake things. whats up with that?

Could be a proto-facehugger.

Also, the alien from Alien:
It's at the 1:22 mark.

Glad it's not just me. Can't wait to see the film but that line in the trailer is driving me nuts.

"It's a star map"

"No, not a map, an invitation"

"Yeah....Still a fucking star map though isn't it love"

Indeedily. From what I can make of this film, it's set in the Alien universe and is the same ship from Alien (that we also see in the special ed of Aliens) but that it isn't really intended as a prequel.
At least not in the normal sense.

I could not agree more. I chose him for the final section of my Film Studies coursework at college

I didn't like Robin Hood and the A-Team was a blah film, pretty stereotypical action film.

He was only exec producer on A-team.

He did make G.I Jane though.

I personally like to believe so, and liked her performance of Lisbeth Salander from the Millenium Trilogy over that of Rooney Mara. (Who's portrayel made me face-palm during the two or three more naive things she did in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.)
