Went with no. Saw the first movie before I had ever heard of Twilight and found it boring, but hate is a bit more than I can muster for it.

I took it for what it was, a teen love story with vampires. I remember the trash I thought was cool when I was young and stupid(er).

True but who is it who is the idiot?

The idiot who writes a shitty book or the idiots who buy the book/see the movie in droves because, tho' idiotic, it strikes universal appeal?

Sadly the world is moving ever so slowly to the bland mediocrity as being universally desirable.

I tried watching the first Twilight film when I had absolutely nothing to do after sustaining some small fractures to some bones in my foot. Was bored as fuck but managed to soldier through right up until the point where the asshole started to sparkle. At that point I got up and walked away, buggered up foot and all.

The human appendix. Proof of a higher power. A divine kill switch so to speak.

No one really likes a smartass, but people tend to like a dumbass even less.

The first movie was the worst $2 I had ever spent. I later tried the books because everyone I worked with kept pushing it like it was the greatest ting since sliced bread. the copy I read had all of the problems of the movie with the addition of terrible grammar and editing.

Now, as a concept, I don't have a problem with the series, and with a few (many) more writer's workshops, it could have been better. The series probably wouldn't suck as glaringly as it did if the Twihards weren't so adamant about drawing attention to the series.

Also a friend showed me this, I thought it was appropriate:

There's a metric ton of media out there, that does a better job at the vampire theme, or at approaching the 'vampiric' in general. Books and novels, both old and new, movies, games and even comics. A lot of artists simply have delivered much better material than the author of Twilight could ever hope to do, or the people who wrote the movie scripts based on those books.
Hells, I could even name a dozen movies from the eighties alone ...

And yes, I can get the unsatisfied-teeny-chick-sexual-fantasy hype, but even then I gotta say there's media out there doing a much better job even at that aspect. But the die-hard Twilight girls prolly don't know about 'older' movies or books, only what is currently en vogue.
Thus said, every generation has their idols, their hipsters and their own trends to the ignorance of all others, and therefore I won't vote at all.

40k Armies: Dark Eldar / Adepta Sororitas
WHFB Armies: Vampire Counts / Empire / various Elves
Horus Heresy: Alpha Legion / Warp Cult

I have only seen the second one, as i had nothing better to do at work. The werewolf special effects were cool. Rest of it was quite forgettable. Indifference is the most i can muster, so i'd have to say no.

This comes from personal experience, but I guess I'll drop the analogy, however many tons of times I've seen it proven in-person.

In related news, and less related to religion, I'm pretty sure Stephenie Meyer stated that she was a feminist once. lolWHAAAA-?

Writer of crappy fics, I hope you might derive some enjoyment from them. For original stuff. For stuff that is part of an established universe.
