Lightsabre Fights Should Be 3d

For those of you too scared to go see EP1 in 3d i can say without a doubt that Darth maul in 3D and all lightsabre battles should be in 3D from now on, I admit EP1 is my least favourite of the 6 films but 3D did really spruce it up a bit, jar jar (as annoying as he maybe) looked far more like a real alien in 3D and alot of the grandure and vastness of scenes really come to life more in 3D,space has a real depth when presented in 3D and the space scenes and the pod racing really jump out of the screen (pun possibly intended), really worth a look if your a star wars fan, i can see a 3D tv in my future thats for sure, the conversion was good, much better than other 2d conversions i hve seen, certain scenes didnt need the transfer but others really really really worked well.
Even if you hate this movie its worth going to check out what has been done purely to get excited about what the other movies in the series will bring to the table when they are 3D, i got a serious shiver thinking about how certain scenes like the death star trench and the opening space battle in sith and the death star battle over endor will be like in 3d and i dare not even consider how awesome AT-AT walkers will look on a 3D Hoth.

Yes George gets alot of flack for cocking about with HIS movies but this change is well worth the cost of the ticket and roll on EP2

Wow. A positive opinion?

Am I... reading this right?

Well it's good to see someone is happy to accept what a movie maker is doing with his own movies. A refreshing change from the annoying sense of entitlement that seems prevalent.

Nice, I'm going to see this later today, so I'm glad that the 3D is good.

To be honest the movie hardly gets play time in my house, if im watching the movies over a weekend or something is about the only time i will put EP1 on and even then i have been known to skip the parts with jake loyd, even the pod race bit as the announcer annoys me too.
But i can say the movie was much more palatable in 3D, Personally Yoda in CG makes sense, as he no longer looks like a puppet, i dont mind him looking like a puppet in empire and Jedi because they were made in the 70s'80s' but in EP1 it grated the shit out of me. Jar jar somehow looks more real because of the 3d, my brother in law and i were debating if he had been enhanced digitally prior to the release or if it was the 3D that was making him some how more real, we will investgate and let you know, but i was thinking that the texturing and modeling for ep3 would have been far more advanced than for EP1 so they may have gone back and tweeked him ? but either way he just worked more in 3D.

The one thing i want you to watch out for is make sure you are in your seat and have your glasses on for the opening star wars crawl and the star field, i know its only a tiny thing but seriously the 3D on the opening crawl is weird because its the same in many ways because the text is flat, but the stars now have depth....anyway its mental

Ouh, hell yes. I watched this on its premiere, and holy fucking shit I loved it. Even though it is my least favorite Star Wars movie due to kid Anakin, it was still awesome in 3D.

The opening crawl and the end credits somehow felt special. This is the first time no one rose from his seat in the cinema (and it was close to full) before the credits had ended.

And no longer is the Duel of the Fates the sole reason to watch this movie, now it is pretty much all worth it. Highly recommended.

Just got back from watching it, and I can say - that originally I thought The Phantom Menace was the worst out of the bunch. Now, I rate it better than Attack of the Clones. In case you're interested by the way, and because I like doing lists, here's my favourite Star Wars films in ranked order, first to last:

Empire Strikes Back
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

Yeah, I know. And the fact that it was also the second Star Wars film that I saw at the cinema (Revenge of the Sith being the first). The let-downs were the usual fare, Jar Jar Binks and young Anakin. Also, that person who thought it was a good idea to bring their baby/young child to watch Star Wars.

It started crying halfway through the film, just before Anakin left his home to become a Jedi. And wouldn't stop for at least ten minutes.

I'm very pleased to read such positive things about this. I'm going to be taking a trip to see it this week.

Regards,
Jake.
