Default [BBC] Leonardo Da Vinci

Just caught this yesterday after recording it at the weekend; and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable, and factual programs that the BBC have ever produced, and that I have had the pleasure to watch - not some over dramatised History Channel bullshit full of Visual Effects barely suitable of some straight to DVD Hollywood Rip-off.

Afterwards, there was a load of shit in the papers talking about how it was similar to Fiona Bruce's Palace program, in that it was Fiona Bruce stands in front of Paintings and shows off her arse in a dress while interviewing people in their own language.

I never understood this - it's about time that an intelligent TV presenter is put in front of camera's - as boring as Countryfile is, that Matt Baker and his Ginger Farmer friend whatever his name is - actually know what they're on about. When we get Joanna fucking Lumley recording her Summer Holidays as she goes around Greece, that's a fucking joke.

The UK barely knows any languages as a whole aside from our own, and to have someone being able to go on television and be able to hold a short conversation in another language is pretty damn amazing, especially as she is just a TV presenter; who typically only get the job by being easy on the eye and capable (?) of reading a script.

As an aside, I'm currently playing Assassins Creed 2 and Brotherhood in preperation for Revelations, and I found it amazing how accurate the buildings were. I knew important locations like St Peters Basilica (I told the Girlfriend that I and a couple of boys from my Brotherhood decided to steal an actual Piece of Eden - like the daft blonde she is, she took it hookline and sinker. Apparently told the story to some of the guys at the office today - until the intern told her that was the storyline to a game. This is the same woman who believed that the Taliban were called Terry Taliban after the first British Taliban was called Terry.)

Oh, yeah, Leonardo.

I knew he was a fantastic painter and author, but never had I truly appreciated HOW fantastic.

Makes the Turner Prize and Tracy Emin look like an absolute demick.

I'll probably watch this on Iplayer tonight or over the weekend. I LOVED the Assassin's Creed games after all.
