Space Marine 2000 pt army revisited

My last space marine army was I admit a huge fail. There wasn't enough troop choices and was way to expensive on individual units. Iv tweaked it a lot and I hope this is much better

This was my Original Army

[b]HQ[/B - Chapter master-Artificer armour, power fist, plasma pistol, jump pack-205 points
Librarian-100 points

Troops - 10 man tactical squad-Meltagun,lascannon, teleport homer, drop pod with locator beacon-255 points
10 man tactical squad-Flamer, missile launcher, sergeant has chainsword, mounted in Rhino-215 points
5 man scout squad-4 have sniper rifles, all have camo cloaks, missile launcher, sergent telion-150 points

Elites5 man terminator squad-assult cannon-230 points

Fast Attack - 10 man assult squad-2 plasma pistols, sergeant has power fist and storm sheild-260 points

Heavy support - predetor-twin linked lascannons, lascannon side sponsers, hunter killer missile-175 points
Land raider redeemer-hunter killer missile and pintle mounted miltimelta-260 points
Devestator squad-lascannon, plasma cannon heavy bolter, missile launcher, sergeant has chainsword

Note-Chapter master travels with assult squad

I have made some changes and now looks like this

HQ

Captain - Terminator armour, Thunder hammer, Storm sheild-170 pts
Librarian - 100 points

Troops

10 man tactical squad - Meltagun, Multimelta, Rhino-210 pts
10 man tactical squad - flamer, missile launcher, Srg has combi melta, Rhino-215 pts
5 man scout squad - 4 snipers, 5 camo cloaks, Heavy bolter, Srg Telion-150 pts
5 man scout squad - Heavy bolter-85 pts

Elites

5 man terminator squad - All have thunder hammers and storm sheilds, Land Raider redeemer as DT-440 pts (Including Land Raider)
5 man sternguard squad - 3 combi meltas, Drop pod-175 pts

Fast attack

5 man vanguard veteran squad - All have jump packs, Srg has relic blade-190

Heavy support
Predetor - Twin linked lascannon, sponser mounted lascannons-165
Thunderfire cannon - 100 pts

My captain will travel in the redeemer with the assult terminator squad
My librarian and tactical squads will zoom around in rhinos capturing objectivs, the scouts will do the same exept infeltrate
Sternguard vets will drop pod behind enemy lines and cause havoc
my vanguard vets will deep strike next to the enemys expensive shooty units and asslut them using heroic intervention before being shot to bits
The pred wil focus on the enemy tanks or monsters
The thunderfire cannon will take out tightly packed large units

Please excuse my terrible spelling
All comments and tips are welcome

the Rhino can only hold 10 models and adding the Librarian will prohibit the tac. squad he joins from getting in a rhino with him. Either drop one marine and the subsequent upgrades, or just GoI them around, dropping the rhino and using it's points for something else. OR combat squad the squad he's with and put them in a rhino (or Razorback if you can spare the extra points) and use the other, weaker half to hold home objectives.

Either way it's a trade off. Take up one of your Librarian's abilities with GoI, lose the special/heavy weapons of one squad, or have a low Wound count squad with your Librarian.

"No, what does Shrike do?" - love to hear that

Awww, wait... damn it!

It's better than the first. I think the army lacks any alpha strike elements - such as Land Speeders.

Ok this is pretty solid but there are a couple thing you could do to make it better. First of all if you must have vanguard with jetpcks, which I hate, you might as well take a locator beacon on all your drop pods so they don't scatter.

Secondly I am not sure your cpatian is really that necessary is really that necessary the captain add what 4-5 attacks to the terminator squad. Drop the captain and switch to a crusader and buy two more termies, not only did you get more survivable but you got cheaper and added more attacks.

Thirdly I think the twin las on the pred is not really worth it , the sponsons are good and I don't think you need the extra twin linked shots.

Use thos epoints to buy yourself a speeder or something else nice.

my idea was to separate the sternguard and vanguard when they deep strike to make the enemy stretch his forces apart leaving him/her vulnerable to my foot units. anyway locator beacons wouldn't work on jump packs because they only work with teleporting units like terminators
