The army is designed to have the dreadnought drop poding into the mid's of the enemy to disrupt them. I can split the units into combat squads depending on the mission, but this will normally be the case, with the heavy weapons teams forming a firing line and the other units advancing to take objectives.

The landraider commander and terminators will scoot forward to punch though the enemy line and roll it up or at the least casue a lot of mayhem and stop any advance.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

nice standard loadout. Not a fan of the artificer armor, but if you run them with termies, its ok. I'd give him an assault weapon, so he can add a touch of fire power (combi-flamer maybe?) to his assault

terminators are just not very effective, unless the come running out of a landraider or have storm shields, oh look you got both. The new storm shields make termies champion units.

As for the Dread, do you actually own one? GT require WYSIWYG as far as I know. Another very CC oriented unit, the drop pod makes it playable. Psyche value and CC value is outrageous.

Here is where I am going to get a bit critical. The multi-melta isn't worth its points in a tac unit, low range, melta rule makes it even smaller in range. In a tournament setting this weapon should never work out. Be rid of it and add another lascannon, as you are very shy in the anti-armor department. I would also see a powerfist added to the rhino mounted tac squad, and unless you intend to move the entire squad (and loose a few turns of heavy weapons) switch the rhino to a razorback.

I like the landraider, but chronus and landraider, and term squad, and leader is all your eggs in one basket, its a dangerous basket to be sure, but I might look at unloading some of the vast amount of points tied up here.

The Chronus upgrade seems unneccessary in a Land raider. Everythings twin-linked and if your just trying to not miss with the melta then it's a waste of points.

Marine: I feel we need to widen our emotional spectrum.

Marine 2: Why?

Marine: I just want to do more than pray and be angry.

I didn't think I could give another weapon to him once he had a relic blade as it is an entry by itself.

ELITES

- 2 Lightning Claws

Elite 2: Iron Clad Dreadnought: 185 points

I dont have one yet, but a conversion would not be too hard if required. The army is for this time next year.

TROOPS

Troops 1: 10 man Tactical Squad: 210 points
- Lascannon
- Melta
- Sergeant with Power Fist
After looking at what you sugested a power fist to help in those tight situations could be useful.

Troops 2: 10 man Tactical Squad: 255 points
- Heavy Bolter
- Flamer
- Sergeant with Power fist
- Razorback with extra armour and dozer blade
Another powerfist for a little extra errrr punch
I was considering a Razorback but was obviously thinking of the old codex where you could not take a razorback if the squad could not fit inside.

Troops 3: 10 man Tactical Squad: 190 points
- Lascannon
- Plasma gun

HEAVY SUPPORT

Heavy Support 1: Landraider Crusader: 275 points
- Multi Melta
- Extra armour

Army Total: 1500

A few adjustments there. I think I may try it out before I change anything else but any further ideas would be good.

Amra is right, you can give your Captain a Relic Blade AND another wargear option. He's went over it many times with me haha, bless him!

thanks digg, The old codex seems to have a firm grip on players.

And humakt, your list seems to be coming together quite nicely. The reduction of your hammer units points cost shouldnt take away too much of its hitting power, but makes it just slightly more cost effective. The other things I might change up are; move the Captain to the razorback squad. This squad will also see some combat, and with a fist and a relic blade, my similar squads do great in melee. I also just noticed the plasmagun, I never use these, because loosing a scoring troop to his own shots is really uncalled for. I would upgrade to melta-gun, its only one shot, range of the plasma-gun on the move (and its assault).

HQ

HQ 1: Captain: 155 points
- Relic Blade
- Articifer Armour
- Combi Flamer
I like this idea. A bit of flaming death then charging in.

ELITES

Elite 1: 5 man Terminator Assault Squad: 200 points
- 4 Thunder hammer's and Storm Sheild
- 1 Lightning Claws
I'll use the lightning claw to represent the sergeant I think

Elite 2: Iron Clad Dreadnought: 185 points
- Iron Clad Assault Launchers
- Drop pod

TROOPS

Troops 1: 10 man Tactical Squad: 245 points
- Lascannon
- Melta
- Sergeant with Power Fist
- Rhino
I just added an extra vehicle. Being able to ferry units forward quickly could prove useful, as I learnt last night during a game.

Troops 2: 10 man Tactical Squad: 255 points
- Heavy Bolter
- Flamer
- Sergeant with Power fist
- Razorback with extra armour and dozer blade

Troops 3: 10 man Tactical Squad: 185 points
- Lascannon
- Melta gun
I'll run with this option and see how it pans out. I do dislike plasma for the same reason.

HEAVY SUPPORT

Heavy Support 1: Landraider Crusader: 275 points
- Multi Melta
- Extra armour

Army Total: 1500

OK so another change or 2 to see what happens. I'm hoping to get a game in sooner rather than later.

Personally I'd lose artificer armour and the combi flamer to upgrade to chapter master and (random) orbital bombardment goodness. It may not always be that effective, but your opponent has to think about it when deploying

I like.... though If I take terminators I try to take at least 10

Elite 2: Iron Clad Dreadnought: 185 points
- Iron Clad Assault Launchers
- Drop pod

this guy gets a meltagun and storm bolter as I recall. Upgrade the storm bolter to a heavy flamer for dropping flamey goodness.

TROOPS

Troops 1: 10 man Tactical Squad: 245 points
- Lascannon
- Melta
- Sergeant with Power Fist
- Rhino

Personally I think tactical squads are way overpriced. compare, for example, this squad to a 20 orks with a powerklaw nob in a battle wagon (costing 260 points). I guess 1 squad is ok, 2 squads is questionable and 3 is definitely pushing it.

Troops 2: 10 man Tactical Squad: 255 points
- Heavy Bolter
- Flamer
- Sergeant with Power fist
- Razorback with extra armour and dozer blade

lose the extra armour to save points. Powerfist is questionable

Troops 3: 10 man Tactical Squad: 185 points
- Lascannon
- Melta gun
I'll run with this option and see how it pans out. I do dislike plasma for the same reason.

HEAVY SUPPORT

Heavy Support 1: Landraider Crusader: 275 points

Nice... is the crusader strictly better than the redeemer? In my expereience everyone gets cover saves which mitigates all those bolter shots.
